Our Clickbank id = t30daydiet
Hoplink (the url you use to promote The 30 Day Diet and gain commission for each sale) = YOURID.t30daydiet.hop.clickbank.net
YOURID would be replaced by your Clickbank username, so if for example you Clickbank username (affiliate nickname) is "louisbar" then your hoplink would look like this:
(Realise this is only an example - use your own username!)
That is pretty much all there is to it. When someone clicks through to The 30 Day Diet site via your hoplink the are redirectedto the www.the30daydiet.com domain and a small tracking file (or cookie) is dropped onto the computer of the visitor. This marks that "visitor" as coming from your referral.
Clickbank makes use of 60 day cookies, this means that if you send a person to www.the30daydiet.com via your hoplink and they purchase immediately or within the next 60 days you get a commission.
If you have any questions about making hoplinks, whatsoever, please CONTACT ME any time!
Current Commission= 50% of initial purchase plus 50% per month for the life of the customer (up to 99 months as per Clickbank rules).
Per Initial Sale Commission = approximately $33.50* and $42.00* for the upsell (this higher offer is converting at approximately 30% of all sales)
Per Month Commission = $9.50* for the duration of the customers subscription

Essentially there are two different types of promotional techniques: free and paid. Both can be extremely profitable, but both have different strengths and weaknesses.
Free Traffic Techniques
Free traffic is how I started to make a secondary income online. The only thing holding you back is your own motivation - how much you make is directly in proportion to how much time and effort you put in.
There are however some tricks that I have gleaned along the way which require less effort than others. Below I will introduce you to the techniques that have been most profitable to me, pretty soon you'll be getting a lot of traffic and that is the key to making regular sales.
Although you can create small, absolutely free hub sites on platforms such as www.squidoo.com, www.hubpages.com and www.blogger.com among others, it is my opinion that the first thing you should do is buy a domain name and get some hosting.
I have used a number of hosting providers in the past, just google "website hosting" and you will find a whole heap of companies specializing in this. If you want something very cheap, I have heard good things about www.hostgator.com. Hosting can set you back as little as $5 per month.
As for getting a domain name, visit www.godaddy.com or www.namescheap.com and grab a name that ideally includes keywords relating to the weight loss and dieting niche. A .com domain name will likely cost about $10 a year - cheap as chips!
Now, as for the type of website you want to create, it is my advice that you create a review type page or a pre-sell letter style page. In general I have found that these types of pages convert very well.
A review page is simply an review of a particular product. I had all my initial online marketing success by producing these types of pages. Of course you don't want to hype the product too much and ideally you should have used it for yourself. Giving an unbiased, personal opinion on a product will boost conversion rates and make those sales stick.
A good review page has a few pre-requisits if you are to really maximize your pages conversion rate:
- A big compelling headline
- A list of product benefits
- Be written in a personal style
- Have a balanced conclusion (no product is perfect, what are some things that could be improved?)
A good idea is to look at some review pages on the internet marketing products similar to The 30 Day Diet. Have a look at Fat Loss 4 Idiots reviews and Strip That Fat reviews. The websites featured at the top of the paid advertising (the right side of the search results) on google will often be reviews of products. Take heed of their styles and improve on them.
Pre-selling a product is a great idea and can result in some fantastic conversion rates if done properly. You'll want to be careful that you don't over-hype the product though. Gentlly push the potential customer in the direction of the product but don't outright sell to him/her - that is the job of our sales page!
A good pre-sell page is very similar to a review page but its format will be slightly different and it will likely be in a letter style. You want to trigger an emotional response in the prospect so be sure to emphasise the benefits.
Utilizing a few "influence" techniques can greatly help boost conversion rates from your websites. I recommend you read the book "Yes" by Robert Cialdini and everything from Kevin Hogan. The following strategies are a good starting point however:
- - People tend to want to be part of the crowd, we are conditioned to follow what others are doing. If others are using a certain product and having success people assume that it will also be good for them. Testimonials from others are extremely powerful, use them well and your conversion rates will go up.
- - A person who has authority in a particular field is seen as an expert and this instills trust. By creating useful and insightful material that benefits people you can become an authority figure in your chosen niche, thus increasing conversion rates.
- - If you can blend authority and expert status with likeability you become a highly respected figure, interacting with people on a personal level is vitally important. Connecting with website visitors through comments sections, forums or an email list is a fabulous way to increase your likeability and induce trust. Share your information as though talking to a friend, let them know you are a real human being.
- - If something is scarce people usually want it more - its scarcity increases its value. This is why you constantly see marketing suggesting "Only 20 copies left" in their promotions. You have to be careful with this one though, have integrity with it - make sure what you're offering genuinely is scarce.
The triggers above are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to influence, but their power should not be underestimated. Use them ethically within your marketing and you will notice improved results.
1.) Write and submit articles to various article directories (like ezinearticles.com or articlesdashboard.com). You will want each article you submit to feature a link to your website where you can pre-sell them on The 30 Day Diet.
2.) Utilize web 2.0 sites such as squidoo.com, blogger.com, hubpages.com, wetpaint.com, wordpress.com, gather.com, zimbio.com and others. By writing short articles and reviews you can link back to your main website from these popular websites to boost your pagerank and gain more traffic.
3.) Social bookmark your website and all of the web 2.0 and articles you have written. I like to use digg.com, stumbleupon.com, propeller.com and others.
4.) Comment on popular forums and blogs with a link to your website.
5.) Submit RSS feeds to RSS directories like feedraider.com, feedfury.com, feedage.com and others.
6.) Contact other websites in the niche and ask to swap links. If you decide to do this you should make sure that the anchor text used is a keyword that you want to rank for, like "weight loss diet plans" or "fastest way to lose weight".
The ultimate goal of all this is to gain as many links back to your website as possible. This will help your site rank higher in the search engines and of course each link has the potential to generate traffic itself.
You should always try to use achor text back to your site which features a keyword that your site is optimized for. This should NOT always be the same. Mix up your achor text but make sure it is always related to the weight loss niche.
The html code to use to place a url (in this case your affiliate link re-directing to The 30 Day Diet) with anchor text would be as follows:
<a href="http://YOURID.t30daydiet.hop.clickbank.net">Your Chosen Keyword</a>
Paid Traffic Techniques
Paid traffic simply means paying money in order to get traffic (or potentially get traffic) to your site. This method has the potential to bear fruit much more quickly than the free traffic method, however you do need a much larger budget in order to get started.
Below I will talk briefly about two of the more popular paid traffic techniques (more advanced secrets will be sent via the affiliate email list).
There are a whole host of companies and websites offering a pay per click service. The most popular ones are Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing and MSN AdCenter. Basically each services gives you a price per click, each click you recieve to your website costs you that price.
With PPC you can directly link to The 30 Day Diet using your hoplink in the advert itself, or you can link to your pre-sell review/letter site. When I have marketed other products as an affiliate I have found that this second strategy of "soft selling" tends to convert better. Having said that I usually test my keywords by direct linking first so I can optimize my page when I have more in-depth information.
There is so much to say about PPC and it takes a lot of explaining, so my advice is that you check out the following videos to get a solid overview of the whole system, they are all by the PPC guru that is Gauher Chaudhry:
Google Adwords Overview
MSN AdCenter Overview
Then come back here and grab some of the ads and keywords that I will be publishing right here (and via The 30 Day Diet affiliate email list).
Making sure you use the most productive keywords is crucial whether you are engaging in a free or a paid traffic generation system. You are of course welcome to use our list of keywords below (coming soon) but I feel that you would benefit from learning how to do your own research and grabbing those keywords which very few people know about. Use Googles "adwords keyword tool" to find your own keywords and get creative! Sometimes this strategy can convert better and keep costs down when using PPC.

Keyword Research Overview
Banner ads can be used on your own websites to give a colourful alternative to regular text advertisment and reviews. They are great for breaking up reams of text copy and give website visitors an obvious place to click.
They can also be used as part of a pay per click strategy. Google Adwords and other paid traffic solutions offer banner advertising features whereby you can create or upload a banner and have it broadcast across a wide variety of websites as selected by yourself.
Remember, no matter which method you choose to generate your traffic, make sure you test absolutely everything. Get used to split testing everything from headlines to benefit lists to ad copy. Making money online is not about reinventing the wheel, borrow successful peoples strategies and then test them against your own.
Of course the other thing you may consider doing is split testing our site against another one to see which gives you more profit. If you decide to do this it is important you don't make "newbie" mistakes, you want your results to be accurate so here are some things to look out for:
1.) Use a split testing script that alternates visitors to each site in REAL TIME! It isn't accurate to send 1000 visitors to one site, then 1000 visitors to the other - different days and times can produce different sources of visitors with a different frequency of sales. Test sites at the SAME TIME with each new visitor being alternated between both sites, this will balance out any sudden influx of compulsive buyers or people simply on a research mission as evenly as possible.
2.) Do not end a split test TOO SOON! Most people starting out with split testing choose to end the test after a set number of visitors have been sent to each site, say 500 or 1000. Although you might have a supposed "winner" after such a test, it is unlikely to be accurate. Instead of focussing on visitors, you should focus on SALES, end the test after a pre-determined number of sales have happened. The MINIMUM number of sales for a scientifically valid split test should be a total of 40 sales from both sites added together. I prefer to take this a step further and aim for 100 total sales.
You often see stats like the following example:
||Sales after 1 week
||Sales after 8 weeks
If the marketer had ended his/her test after the first 20 sales they may have declared the wrong site winner and could've potentially made less profit. Knowing when to end a split test is one of the biggest reasons why regular affiliates never become "super affiliates". Use 40 (or more) sales when split testing.
3.) Finally, once you have conducted your scientically accurate split test following the guidelines above, you need to add up the total MONEY EARNED from each site. Just because Site #1 got more sales doesn't necessaryily mean it is a better site to promote. Pay attention to the NUMBERS, lets look at our chart again but with MONEY MADE instead of sales:
||Money made after 1 week
||Money made after 8 weeks
||7 sales x $20 = $260
||123 sales x $20 = $2460
||13 sales x $33 = $231
||101 sales x $33 = $3333
In this example you can see if we didn't look at money earned and just went on sales, we would've picked the wrong site to promote. This seems really simple but it is amazing how many people forget the bottom line - whichever site gives you more MONEY is the winner!
Keep track of everything; traffic, sales and money earned. Then you will quickly become a SUPER AFFILIATE!

The truth is that it takes a lot of work (many hours) to create a ton of 'legit' articles, landing pages and reviews. But think about it like this, many people go to college classes for several hours then get home and study some more - all in the hope of getting a "good" job. Most people want a "good" job simply because it will pay them a certain amount of money whereby they can live comfortably.
But, let me tell you this, if that same person devoted just 10-20% of their study time to simply writing targetted articles every week and posting them to directories or their own site, they would quickly become one of our top affiliates and earn more money in a month or two than most people earn in a year.
The choice is yours. With determination and effort, you really can make a full time living by promoting The 30 Day Diet. I'm here to help you all that I can, if you have any questions email me, or add me to Facebook and send me a message there. We are a team, this is a win-win-win situation. I succeed when you succeed, and you succeed by helping people transform their lives for the better - it doesn't get much better than that!
To your on-going success,
