High Protein Diet Plan? Do They Boost Fat Loss?

A high protein diet plan is a very effective way to reduce fat whilst maintaining muscle mass – something crucial if you want to get back in shape and keep a curvaceous figure. Despite this useful quality, high protein diet plans are not heard of as much in the newspapers and on TV as the more popular low fat or low carb diets, however many popular programs actually an increased protein content without marketing it as such – the Jennifer Aniston diet (basically the atkins diet) is a high protein diet but sells itself as low carb.

A high protein diet plan will slightly reduce the amount of carbohydrates you eat in favour of proteins such as meat, fish, eggs and dairy products. Most people have a diet where protein makes up 10-15%, on a high protein diet you’ll get approximately 35-40% of your daily calories from protein. A high protein low calorie diet can help accelerate you fat loss if used over a short period, however you’ll want to cycle your calories if you are to continue to lose weight.

As protein is extremely filling you are likely to feel full quickly, thus reducing cravings and consuming less calories during the course of a day. Protein is more difficult for your body to digest and this means your body’s metabolism is elevated; providing you with a boost in energy without the detrimental effects on your blood sugar that eating complex carbs can have.

There are drawbacks with this type of high protein diet to lose weight as well as benefits. A diet high in protein can put strain on your kidneys and cutting out too many carbs can result in a lack of fiber and vitamins and minerals causing digestive problems. A high protein diet program is also sometime problematic for vegetarians because it is often difficult to find a wide enough variety of foods to eat. This last point becomes irrelevant when you use good protein supplementation.

The bottom line is, high protein diet programs are effective and if planned properly they can help you lose weight quickly and safely. But, if you want to ensure long-term success you should plan everything methodically so that you develop a diet plan which works in your best interests – by manipulating macro-nutrient and calorie content on a regular basis, just like our very own 30 day diet system does.

Losing weight is a balance of exercise and diet plans. One option is to have a low carb diet meal plan in place to get started on changing some of those eating habits. Which website has been the most helpful for your low carb diet meal plans? I liked yours: Low Carb Diet
